these bookmark bases are the ones where you can attach the beads and marbles and wire stuff, which will all hang outside the book.
Base 1: this is one of the smaller bases. its really cool when you look at it from the outside. the top part with all the squiggly bits is supposed to be over the spine of the book, so that you can attach a string with all the decorations to the little loop on the left, where you can see a bit of black thread there.

Base 2: the bigger curve (on the right) is the part that hangs over the spine of the book in this one. the decorations are attached to the circle on the bigger curve.

Base 3: the long straight part on top goes over the spine of the book. decorations are attached the loop at the end of it.

i made this for my friend rachel. hence the R below the marble. for this, i attached a small string of seed beads to a blue marble (you can't really tell in this photo) in a spiral cage and then added an R below.
